If you’re a golfer… seasoned professional or strictly amateur, Looe has one of the most scenic 18 hole golf courses in the UK. Designed by six times Open Champion, Harry Vardon, the Looe Golf Club offers some quite spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and coast. Just less than a ten minute drive from Barclay House Hotel and with the hotel’s association with the Golf Club, this is a package that will suit any golfer to a tee (sorry!) Optional extras available on booking;
Collections and drop-offs can be organised through Barclay House if choosing to travel by train.
Hire of clubs, shoes, carts and trolleys can also be arranged at the time of booking the break.
Golf Pro, Barrie Evans, available if required, at £15/half hour – all levels welcomed.
Dress code for Looe Golf Club to be adhered to; no jeans, must wear golf shoes, collared shirts, tailored shorts, etc.

Cost: £599 per room. The opportunity exists to upgrade to a superior room with spectacular river views for just £90 per room, bringing the total cost of your two night stay to £689.00 or £709.00 should you opt to stay the extra night.

How about our Taste of the South West Autumn / Winter 2 night breaks?

This break is MUST for all foodies! A true taste of the South West, not only through our own Taste of the West award winning restaurants where local produce heads the menu and where you can kick back and relax over breakfast, lunch and dinner, but a tour of one of the staple products of this region, cider! Cornish Orchards is another Taste of the West award winner, scooping accolades for its apple juice and cider. Friday
Pre-breakfast; early morning at Looe fish market – Auctioneer, Julian, will be on hand to show you how a real fish market works. There is also a masterclass in filleting the day’s catch. It’s a 0610 call at the fish market, so not for the faint hearted!

Transport back to Barclay House Hotel
Afternoon - visit to Cornish Orchards for a tour of the Orchards, see the apples being pressed through to a tasting (duration 1.5hours)
Transport back to the Hotel
Dinner at Barclay House. Here you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labours with the fish you saw landed and filleted earlier, expertly prepared and plated for dinner by Michelin trained head chef, Joe Sardari.

Saturday
Full Cornish breakfast at Barclay House
Discover Looe, Polperro and the surrounding coast. Walk the stunning coastal path, take a boat (weather dependent), enjoy a spot of retail therapy or just meander through one of Cornwall’s most historic seaside towns.
Lunch at Trawlers
Depart

Cost: £459 per room. The opportunity exists to extend your stay to a third night to include dinner, room and breakfast for just £140 per room, total £599 for the three nights. The option also exists to upgrade to a superior room with spectacular river views for just £30 per room/per night.
